Jamaican Castile Soap

Castile soap is one of the oldest soaps still in everyday use. What sets it apart is simple: it is made entirely from plant oils, with no animal fat and none of the harsh detergents found in many modern bars. What castile soap actually is

Traditional castile soap is built on olive oil, sometimes blended with other plant oils. Because it is a true soap rather than a synthetic detergent bar, it cleans without stripping the skin, and it keeps the natural glycerin the soap-making process produces. In Jamaica's heat and humidity, most people wash often — sometimes more than once a day. A harsh soap used that frequently leaves skin dry, irritated, and tight. A gentle, plant-based castile soap is far better suited to frequent washing: it cleans effectively without the stripping effect, which matters more here than in a cooler, drier climate.
